The Eastern Shore Amateur took place on July
28 and 29 at Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club. The competitors would like to thank LeCato Interiors and Thornton
Services for their continued support.
Steve Davenport, from Cannon Ridge Golf Club in Fredricksburg, VA, won the event
with a 36 hole total of 137, one stroke higher than the tournament record. Steve was aided by a final round 66 that
included 31 strokes on the front nine. The front nine score gave Steve a 4 stroke lead that he never relinquished.
The First Flight was won by JD Marshall with a total of 148. JD built a 6 stroke advantage after the first round
that proved insurmountable. The second flight was very competitive with Tom Staffer winning by 1 stroke over Jeff Shield.
Jeff built a 4 shot lead over the first 28 holes before being overtaken by Tom's consistent play. In the Third Flight,
Barney Selph shot 86 - 79 to win by 8 shots.
